Obituary for James H. "Jimmy" Van Scoy

James “Jimmy” H. Van Scoy, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
Born on July 26, 1957, in Albany, he was the son of the late James E. Van Scoy and Theresa M. (Powers) Van Scoy.
Jimmy graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1976. After graduation, Jimmy joined the South Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Department and fell in love with being a firefighter and later on he became fire police. He was also a member of the Eagles Scouts.
Since 2005, Jimmy enjoyed his job as a bus driver on bus #283 at the South Glens Falls School District.
He enjoyed his trips to Stewarts and McDonalds for his morning coffee.
Left to cherish his memory include his sister, Patricia Sweet and her husband, Thomas; his nieces, Rebecca Harrington and her husband, Robert, and Gail Sweet; his great-nephews, Michael, RJ and Nick Harrington.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 10am on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Southside Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
