Jane Eleanor Gedney, 86, of South Glens Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 13, 1927, in Troy, NY, she was one of four daughters of the late Willard MacDowell and Theodora (Pratt) MacDowell Stewart.

Before retiring to South Glens Falls in 1999, Jane was an accomplished seamstress who owned “Jane’s Stitchery” in Clifton Park, NY, specializing in custom wedding gowns and formal dresses. Jane enjoyed sewing, camping, traveling and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Jane is predeceased by two sisters, Carolyn Griffith and Evelyn Shorter.

Jane is survived by her loving companion of 22 years, Alfred Agnew, her children; Dallas Gedney(Brenda) of Otego, Diane Gedney of Fort Edward, Richard Gedney (Kathleen) of Rochester, James Gedney (Ann Marie) of Clifton Park, and George Gedney(Caroline) of Queensbury, her grandchildren; David Gedney (Catherine), Jonathan Gedney (Holley), Timothy Gedney(Laura), Kathryn Gedney, William Gedney, Emily Gedney, Stephen Gedney, and Lisa Gedney (Bradley Peacock); her great-grandchildren; Elise Gedney, and Jacob, Brianna, Jordan and Nathan Peacock, as well as a sister, June Blair.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11am on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the funeral home, with John Tether, Pastor of the Northway Christian Family Church officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery, Queensbury, NY.
