Obituary for Janet L. Kasold

Janet L. Kasold
Glenside, PA formerly of Gansevoort,

Janet (LePage) Kasold (Glenside, PA formerly of Gansevoort), On April 17, Janet, 79, went home to her eternal reward after spending her last two years content in the tender and devoted care of her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Brandy.
She was born Janet Anita LePage, on September 18, 1933, to Dorothy (Beauvois) and Alderic LePage, in Chateaugay, NY. She graduated from Chateaugay High School and then from SUNY Plattsburgh with a BS in nursing.
She moved from Chateaugay to South Glens Falls with her best friend, Barbara Adams, in 1956 to work as a school nurse teacher for the South Glens Falls School District. There she met the love of her life, Raymond Kasold. They were married on November 28, 1957, in St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay. After their marriage, Janet chose to stay at home to raise their children.
After her husband’s untimely death in 1969, Janet spent 26 proud years as a nursing instructor at Adirondack Community College. She retired from ACC in 1998.
Above all, Janet loved and was completely devoted to her family. Her other passions included cooking for her family, family gatherings, attending her grandchildren’s sports and activities, gardening, feeding and watching her birds, crossword puzzles, her faithful companions, her dogs, Yogi and Abby, her water workout at the YMCA with her friends, the Guatemala Medical Mission, and visiting York Beach, ME.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Alderic, her siblings: Raymond, Gerald, Joseph, Lionel and Rita, her beloved husband, Raymond, her grandson, Christian Cartier, her father and mother-in-law, William and Margaret Kasold, her sister-in-law, Marge Faulkner and brother-in-law, William Kasold. She is survived by her children: Karen (Wayne) Hymes of Albany, Patti Jo (Ken) Hicks of South Glens Falls, Michael (Brandy) of Glenside, PA, her grandchildren, Billy (Laura) Cartier of Bronxville, Erica Cartier of Clifton Park, Jana DeCamilla of Albany, and Kevin and Jaime Hicks of South Glens Falls, her sisters-in-law Eileen (Ron) Caulin of South Glens Falls and Frances Healy of East Rockaway, dear friends: Barbara Adams, Bette Lennox, Joan Noble and Coleen Durkee, and many special and dearly loved nieces and nephews with whom she was thankful to have shared time and special memories.
For the 44 years since Ray’s death, Janet has been the sole heart and strength of her family. Despite her diminutive size, Janet had no rivals in character or the size of her heart. Janet was a woman of indomitable faith, humble and selfless, loved and respected by all who knew her. Janet is truly irreplaceable; she will be sorely missed, but never, ever forgotten.
