Obituary for Joan C. Lanphere (Cummings)

Joan C. Lanphere, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 at Albany Medical Center after a short illness.

She was born in West Haven, Vt on Jan. 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late George and Fannie (Jakway) Cummings.

Joan was a classroom aide at Hartford Central School and worked in home health care. She love dairy farming, cardinals, and her family. Her heart broke when she lost her youngest daughter, Gail Lynn Parrott, suddenly and unexpectedly. Joan will be greatly missed.

Besides her parents and daughter Gail, she was also predeceased by six brothers, Sam, Buzz, Ken, Ron, Beaver and Butch Cummings.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 37 years, Wilton Lanphere of Schuylerville, a daughter, Dr. Anna Parrott of Liverpool,; four sons, Leonard (Julie) Pomainville of Hartford, Jeffrey (Charlotte) Parrott of Hudson Falls, James (Lorena) Parrott of West Haven, Vt. and Richard (Cynthia) Parrott of West Rutland, Vt.; a brother, Paul (Joan) Cummings of Fair Haven, Vt.; nine grandchildren, Sarah Parrott of Poultney, Vt, Katie (Mike) Parrott of Fair Haven, Vt, Rachel Pomainville of Hudson Falls, Olivia (Jack) Davis of Greenwich, Jacob Pomainville of Denver, Colorado, Taylor Parrott of Camillus, Jordan Seymour of Boston, MA, Alison Parrott of Courtland, Renee Parrott of Liverpool and Maja Pomainville of Hartford and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

At. Joan’s request there will be no calling hours and Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
