Obituary for Jobie Lee Blackmer

Jobie Lee Blackmer, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 20, 2019.

Born on July 4, 1961, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Beverly Smith and the late John Blackmer.

Jobie graduated from Glen Falls High School. Following graduation, she enlisted into the United States Army. She was extremely proud of being the first female trained in combat.

She enjoyed her animals, working out, hiking, walking, listening to country music and spending time with friends. Jobie was a member of the American Legion Hudson Falls Post 574 and the Country Western Music Association.

She is survived by her mother, Beverly; her daughter Jasmine Blackmer; her siblings, Cathy Lungen and her husband, Ed, Tina Blackmer and her special friend, Noah, John Blackmer, and Bobbi Blackmer and her special friend, Craig Pratt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A Funeral Service will be conducted following the calling hour at the funeral home with the Rev. Patti Girard, officiating.

Burial will be conducted at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY, will follow the funeral service at 1pm.
