Obituary for John "Kevin" Prosser

LAKE GEORGE

John Kevin Prosser, 50, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 20, 2023 with his wife and his beloved dog Gunner by his side.

Born May 9, 1972 in Nashville, TN, he was the son of Ruth Prosser and the late Thomas Prosser.

Kevin graduated from the Highland View Academy High School in 1991. He owned and operated Upstate Pallets and was also employed as a reseller for Global One Logistics, and in sales with Ameri-Clean.

In June of 2017, Kevin married his soulmate, Tammy Ford on the Appalachian Trail. He always had a passion for helping people, especially children. Just like his father, Kevin could often be found helping people in need by buying groceries, helping them find housing, and even finding furniture for them. His longtime passion was powerlifting. Kevin was inducted into the Strength and Powerlifting Hall of Fame in 2020. He set state and national records in five different federations. His proudest lifts were a 700 pound raw squat, 410 pound reverse grip bench, and a 610 pound deadlift. He also enjoyed training others in the gym, and running powerlifting competitions.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Tammy Prosser of Lake George, his mother, Ruth Prosser of Hagerstown, MD, his daughter Addison Prosser of Hagerstown, MD, his stepson Devon Ford, currently stationed in Italy, his sister Judy Prosser of Hagerstown, MD, his brother Tony Cannon of Tennessee, his mother-in-law Shirley Rogers, of Smithburg, MD, his adopted son Jackson Metz of Albany, NY, and his best friend Tim Crumbly of Virigina.

At Kevin’s request, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 3pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Kingsbury Seventh Day Adventist Church 3991 US-4, Hudson Falls, NY 12839, and at 3pm on Saturday February 11, 2023 at the Hagerstown Seventh Day Adventist Church, 11507 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements are in the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
