Joseph A. Hart, 70, passed away peacefully at his sister’s home in South Glens Falls after a short struggle with pancreatic cancer on September 28, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Hudson Falls, NY on February 18, 1945, he was the son of the late Albert and Agnes (Corrigan) Hart.
He attended both St. Mary’s and Queensbury schools. He graduated from Queensbury in 1962 and then went to the college of Saint Rose. Joseph enlisted in the Air Force and served his country proudly for years including a tour in Vietnam.
Following his service Joseph was employed at Cape Canaveral Space Center in Florida and then he was employed by General Electric Global Research in Niskayuna as a Supervisor of the development shops for 36 years.
After Joseph’s retirement he relocated to Florida in the Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie areas where he enjoyed dining out, bowling, fishing, dancing, traveling, and spending time with his many friends. One of his favorite interests was cars of all types. Over the last few years he went on several cruises with friends.
He attended Pine Knolls Alliance church and was a member of the Elks B.P.O.E. Glens Falls Lodge # 81 where he enjoyed all of the various activities.
Besides his parents Joseph is predeceased by two sisters, Joan Tomasek and Mary Ann Hart.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Kristen Hart and her fiancé Leroy Buttles and granddaughter Aliyah Hart of South Glens Falls, his special companion Dorothy Jean Farren of Stuart , Florida and one sister Alberta “Pete” Sweet of South Glens Falls, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 am, on Tuesday October 6, 2015 at St. Michael’s the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave. South Glens Falls, NY 12803. A celebration of life gathering will be held for all at St. Michael’s school following the funeral mass.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
