Joseph A. Galusha, 80, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Glens Falls Hospital after residing at Home of the Good Shepherd for the past 8 months.
Born January 26, 1943, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Murphy) Galusha.
He graduated from South Glens Falls High School class of 1961.
After graduation, Joe proudly joined the United States Air Force serving his country from 1961-1965 as a radio and radar maintenance specialist.
Joe was a longtime member of the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church.
He was part of the building maintenance team for South Glens Falls School District, retiring after 35 years of service.
Joe enjoyed farming, working on old trucks, tinkering around the house, and visiting with friends. One of Joe’s favorite things to do was travel to Sweden and Ireland where he made many lifelong friends.
Left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Beth Clements (Adam) and Deborah Hurlbut (Michael); grandchildren, Austin Clements, Westley Hurlbut and Matthew Hurlbut.
At Joe’s request there will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Griswold Cemetery.
