Obituary for Judy Ann Champagne (Ramsey)

Judy Ann Champagne (Ramsey)
SOUTH GLENS FALLS -

Judy Ann Champagne, 60, passed Friday, April 11, 2014 from being an Angel on Earth to being an Angel from Above, with her loving husband by her side.
Judy was born June 21, 1953 in Glens Falls, NY, the daughter of Shirley (Dingman) Ramsey. She graduated class of 1971 from Schuylerville High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Keith Champagne, on December 18, 1971 and has spent the past 41 years living an adventure.
Judy was employed at Continental Insurance for 19+ years as an Underwriter. When that employment ended, she and her husband opened Humbuggs Sports Bar and Restaurant, which is in its 18th year of operation. Judy was instrumental in the success of the business. She served as the business manager and gracious hostess, always greeting you with her warm smile.
Judy was one of those rare people who did not have an enemy. Everyone who knew her loved her. She projected love and she received an abundance in return. She treated everyone equally and had infinite compassion. That is simply who she was.
Judy adored travel with her husband Keith. They had many adventures together, the most notable being the Canadian/New England cruise with their daughters, their husbands and grandchildren. Her daughters and grandchildren were the greatest pride and joy of her life.
Judy loved music, to dance and tour casinos with her best friend and husband, Keith. She was the light of every gathering. She loved unconditionally, had great care and concern for others, and always knew just the rights words to say. Family and friends were her passion and joy.
Judy was the very best wife, mother, grandmother and friend whom we were all blessed to have in our lives. She had a beautiful soul and gentle and generous spirit that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Keith Champagne. Her mother Shirley (Dingman) Ramsey. Her daughter Gabrielle (Sean) Baxter and their children, Zachary, Sophia, Alec and Mariah. Her daughter Angela (James) Davis and their daughter, Keegan. She is also survived by Dr. Meredith Hartman whom she considered her own daughter.
Other family includes her very special sister-in-law Cindy (Jerry) LeClair, sisters, Cindy (Robert) Worth, Shelley Ramsey and Stacy Cale, brother-in-law Edward (significant other Linda) Champagne, and brother-in-law Kevin Stone. Her beloved dog Cleo would not leave her side when she was feeling ill. Judy is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Southside Cemetery, Route 32, South Glens Falls, NY with Sr. Donna Irvine, SSND officiating. The service will be followed by a celebration of Judy’s life, “One Last Dance”, at Humbuggs in South Glens Falls.
