Obituary for Julia Virginia Schenk (Morehouse)

Julia Virginia (Morehouse) Schenk, 80, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 19, 1940, in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Carlos and Elouise (Brayton) Morehouse.

Julia attended Argyle High School. She received her Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Adirondack Community College.

For many years she worked as a CNA at Wesley Nursing Home in Saratoga. After working at the Wesley, she went to be a bus monitor at Granville and Hudson Falls Schools.

On October 5, 2013, Julia married Clifford Schenk at Rancho Pines Campgrounds in Chestertown.

Julia enjoyed camping, taking trips, doing puzzles, reading, and baking. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Julia was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, Julia was predeceased by an infant brother; her brother, Charles Morehouse; her son-in-law, Todd Davidson.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 6 years, Clifford; her children, Tina Davidson, Joe Tardif and his wife, Cathy, Cindy Cook and her husband, Ed, William Tardif; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 6 siblings; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Julia’s request there will be no calling hours.

Burial and services will be private and at the convenience of the family at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Julia’s memory can be made to C.R. Wood Cancer Center c/o Glens Falls Hospital Foundation, 126 South Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, the staff at High Peaks Hospice and the staff at HCR Home Care for all their care and compassion.
