Karen Sue Derusha, 61, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 25, 1958, in Glens Falls she was the daughter of Carolyn (Deso) Ballard and the late Llewellyn Ballard.

Karen enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, Isabella and Bastian, she loved giving them little surprises.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 44 years, Richard Derusha; her son, Richard Derusha II and his wife, Stephanie; her grandchildren Isabella and Bastian. She is also survived by a daughter, Charity Anderson of California; her grandchildren, Connor Anderson of Glens Falls, Alexandria Barth of Queensbury, Augustus Garcia of California; a daughter, Candace Dunn and her husband, Rob of Queensbury; three sisters, Michelle Howard of Hudson Falls, Carol Greene and her husband, Jeff of Hebron, Sandra Heydrick and her husband, Robin of Fort Ann; five brothers, David, Christopher, Lynn, Scott and Matthew Ballard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Karen’s request there will be no calling hours. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are in the care of M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

My deepest condolences to all of the family. Karen was my sister in law for many years - even though I was not married in to the family - they were part of my life for over 25 years. She always made me feel loved by the family. I will forever remember her when I make my infamous Pineapple pie - she loved! Rest in peace Karen.

I first met Karen in 2011 when I had came to see my Daddy for the very first time in 41 years . I enjoyed talking with Karen . I even started calling her Momma Karen because she was my Step Mom

So sry she was one of my moms best friends she used to play scrabble with my mom almost on a daily now they can play in heaven with my grandma rip Karen until we meet again
