Kathryn Ann (Roberts) Boucher, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 29, 2013 at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on December 9, 1918 in Lake George, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Roberts.

After many years as a resident of Fort Edward on Broadway, she most recently resided at The Oaks at Fort Hudson in Fort Edward. Kathryn was married for over 50 years to Michael O’Neil “Neil” Boucher and raised eight children in Fort Edward.

Kathryn graduated from South Glens Falls High School and was employed at the Post Star before dedicating her time to raising her family. An accomplished painter, Kathryn enjoyed passing her talents and passions down to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Fort Edward Art Center. Additionally, Kay was very active in the golf world as a member of the T-Bird Country Club and the Wedgewood Golf League.

She enjoyed many varied pastimes including a long time member of the Hilltop Bridge Club and the WTPL Pool League. In addition to raising her large family, she found time to volunteer in many organizations including serving as the Girl Scout Cookie Drive Chairman in Fort Edward for several years.
Besides her parents, husband Neil, and sister Evelyn DiManno, Kathryn was predeceased by her daughter’s Philippa Boucher and Judy Hanley.

Survivors include her six children, Richard (Judy) of Asheville, N.C., Marilyn Kupetz of New Windsor, NY, Michael (Mary) of Queensbury, Kathy Sweet of Fort Edward, Jeanne (Jeff) Tackett of Queensbury and Colleen Boucher of Lake George. She is also survived by her son in law Robert Hanley of Saratoga and a sister, Margarite Pronto, of Queensbury, NY. There are also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews whose lives Kay enriched and who in return greatly brightened her life.

At Kathryn’s request there will be no calling hours

Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fort Edward, N.Y.
