Kenneth L. Granger, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 24, 2014 after a battle with lung cancer, with his family by his side.

Born September 23, 1928 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Alma Granger.

Kenneth attended Glens Falls Schools and was considering a career in professional baseball before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country through 2 tours of duty. He received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the Korean Conflict.

After Kenneth returned from the service, he was employed at Native Textiles for over 25 years. Kenneth was an avid and loyal Yankees fan, even during their rough seasons. He spent many hours watching their games on TV. He also enjoyed working in his yard and getting some sun, doing crossword puzzles, and visiting with all his friends at the American Legion Post 574, where he was a member.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his 2nd wife Wilma “Billee” (Pecor) Granger, his son Keith, his sister, Virginia, and his brother Sterling.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Carmella Havern and her husband Michael, Phyllis Woltman, Stephen Granger and his wife Lori, and Kenny Granger and his wife Lynn, his grandchildren; Michelle Granger, Michael Havern and his companion Carri, Rosalee Underwood and her husband Chad, Alexandra Barbieri, Lydia Barbieri and her husband Dan, Sophia Woltman, and Keith Granger and his companion Abby, his great-grandchildren; Tori Mattison, Nathan Havern, Isabella Underwood, Mason Underwood, and Skylor LaCrosse, and his former wife Rose (Simione) Granger.

Friends may call from 6-8pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the American Legion Post 574, Pearl Street in Hudson Falls, NY. Arrangements are under the care of the M.B.
