Fort Edward

Kenneth Charles Ogden, 85, formerly of Route 197, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Crescent Manor in Bennington, Vt.

Born on May 1, 1923 in Fort Edward, he was the son of the late Charles and Frances (Wilson) Ogden.

Ken was a lifelong resident of Fort Edward and graduated from Fort Edward High School.

He married Gloyde Elaine Powers in what is now the Fort Edward Village Baptist Church on October 28, 1951.

Ken worked for many years transporting cattle for Miller’s Auction Barn in Argyle. His life’s passion was working his dairy farm Windy Ridge. Besides being a dairy farmer, he was an avid gardener; his best crops were tomatoes and sweet corn.

Ken’s other love included the many house and barn cats he cared for over the years. Another past time of Ken’s was to ride his Harley Davidson.

Besides his parents Ken is predeceased by his wife, Gloyde Ogden; and two brothers, Irwin Ogden and Leon Ogden.

Survivors include his children, Valerie Quirion and her husband David of Queensbury, Keith Ogden of Fort Edward, and Janine Aubrey and her husband Michael of Argyle; and his four grandsons, Nate Quirion, Daren Ogden, and Heath and Joshua Aubrey.

Family and friends may call from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home following calling hours at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul Gorsline of the Fort Miller Wesleyan Church officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
