Obituary for Kevin William Darrah

Kevin William Darrah
On Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, the world lost a wonderful man when Kevin William Darrah, 49 passed away unexpectedly at Saratoga Hoapital.

Kevin was born in Glens Falls on May 18, 1959, and remained a lifelong resident of Wilton.

Kevin was one of the few who were fortunate enough to marry his best friend, Bonnie Lewis. Bonnie and Kevin enjoyed a short 26 years together. During those years, Kevin acquired his most beloved treasures, two daughters, Ashley, 23, and Victoria,18, both of Wilton. From the moment they took their first breath until he took his last, Kevin's girls were first and foremost in his mind. Kevin was the type of father and husband that showed his love every day. He was the pillar of his family. Any obstacle that was placed before him, he was able to find a way around it.

Besides being a dynamic husband and father, Kevin was a wonderful businessman. He owned his own flooring installation business for 22 years. He subcontracted for Kellogg's Karpet and Design Center in South Glens Falls for the past 11 years. He took pride in his knowledge of custom carpeting and tile. He worked hard providing quality work for his customers. Honesty, hard work and integrity were among the traits that Kevin possessed. Kevin enjoyed working around his home. Each room showed his love of carpentry. When he finished one project, he always looked forward to starting another. He enjoyed watching football; his favorite team was the Minnesota Vikings. Kevin not only loved his family but also loved life. His good nature made his easy to be around. He got along with most everyone he ever met. Kevin was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. All who knew him will miss him.

He was predeceased by his twin brother, Keith and his mother-in-law, Bernadette Richey.

Along with his wife and daughters, Kevin will be missed by his father, Robert Darrah of Wilton; his mother, Patricia (Alberts) Senecal of Louisiana; future son-in-law, Steven Gifford of Wilton; brother-in-law, Bruce Richey and family of North Carolina; brothers, David Darrah of Glens Falls and Rick Darrah of Schenectady; sisters, Cindy Rose of Florida and Theresa Summerville of Louisiana; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
