QUEENSBURY

Kristen Lee Funk, 22, went into the arms of the Lord Friday November 23, 2012 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born February 17, 1990 at the Glens Falls Hospital, she was the daughter of Steven and Candy (Hargett) Funk.

Kristen attended the South Glens Falls High School where she graduated in 2008. She excelled at her classes. Kristen was a wonderful student who wanted to learn, and loved to learn.

She was an avid softball player who started when she was only 5 years old. In 2007 she was part of The South Glens Falls Bulldogs who won the State Softball Championship. In 2008 she broke two New York State Softball Records; Eight RBI’s and Three Home Runs in one game. She loved her summer travel season with ‘The Slick Chicks’ where she made a Nation Record for hitting a grand slam, and playing with her Adult Co-Ed Softball team ‘The Knights’.

Kristen loved to work. She worked at Aerus Electrolux for the past three years where she became a dedicated worker, saleswomen and business women. She would travel from Queensbury to Plattsburg every day for work. Within her first year she won competitions for being able to sell so many items in a set period of time. She had a wonderful work ethic and worked for everything she had.

Kristen loved being outdoors hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking and even skydiving and most recently she purchased a Harley Davidson and loved riding it.

Above all else, Kristen loved her family. She loved the time she spent with her family and listening to everyone’s stories of their childhood.

Kristen was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Lawrence (Larry) and Lannette (Lenny) Funk.

Left to cherish her memories are her fiancé Steve Palmer: Her parents Steven and Candy Funk: Brother Eric Royer (Fiancé Kaitlynn Roselan) and their children Alex, Anthony and Evan: Sisters Devinne Havens (Eric) and their son Connor, Brittany Funk (Fiancé Kyle Nash) and their daughter Skyler, and sister Taylir Funk: Maternal grandparents Raymond and Georgia Hargett: Maternal great-grandmother Mary Holmes: Sister-in-law Crystal Royer, as well as many cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday November 28, 2012 at the United Methodist Church,15 Maplewood Parkway, South Glens Falls with the Rev. Jeffrey Stratton, pastor, and Rev. Alan Rose co-officiating.

Burial will follow at the Southside Cemetery, South Glens Falls.
