Laura Lowell Burt Brown, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday July 22, 2013 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home with her son Gene and grandson Gene Jr. by her side.

Born in Fair Haven, VT on April 8, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John and Laura Lowell.

In 1939 she married Harold Burt. They raised four children in the Hudson Falls area and spent 31 wonderful years together before Harold’s passing in 1972.

Laura married Roy “Bud” Brown in 1978 in Glens Falls. They spent 32 wonderfully years before his passing in 2012.

She enjoyed trips to the Amish Country, loved listening to music, her two dogs and cats. Laura enjoyed attending Country Gospel Festivals with her son Gene. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Before entering the nursing home, she was cared for by her daughter Eileen and grandson Michael Winslow. He became more than a care giver; he was a friend and companion. Michael could make her laugh when no one else could.

Besides her parents and two husbands, Laura is predeceased by a son, Paul Burt and all her brothers and sister.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Eugene Burt and wife Sharon, Eileen Winslow and husband Frank, and Danny Burt and companion Joyce, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren, step-daughter, Colleen Jones who Laura had a very special relationship with, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and several other step-children.

A funeral service will be conducted following calling hours at 6pm at the funeral home with Regina Haag, Adirondack Friends Meeting, officiating.

Burial will be at 9:am on Friday July 26, 2013 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
