Obituary for Lawrence Woodard

Fort Edward/ White River, Vermont

Lawrence (Larry) Walter Woodard, 75 of Fort Edward passed away Thursday March 2, 2023, at Bennington VA Nursing home.

Born March 15, 1947, in Glens falls NY, he was the son of late Clarence and Mildred (Eastman) Woodard.

Larry enjoyed his Boston Red Sox games; he loved spending time outside when nice out and loved cookout with the family. Larry served in the Air Force and fought Vietnam war.

Beside his parents he is predeceased by his best friend and brother, William R Woodard and Clarence Woodard Jr. His brothers-in-law, Robert Chadwick and Richard Abare.

Lawrence is survived by his son, Charles Woodard; nephews, William R (Mary) Woodard and Randy (Lori) Woodard; His great-nieces, Olivia (Joshua) Waddell, and Paige; great-nephew, William H Woodard; great-great-nieces, Zoey Fuller and Rylee Waddell; his siblings, Luella (Earnest) Spears, Joyce Abare, and Donna Chadwick; his Aunt Nellie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Larry will be buried at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871 with full military honors. A pending date and time will be announced soon.

A special thanks to Mary Woodard and Olivia Waddell for caring for Larry for many years.

The family would also like to extend they’re thanks to Dr. Peters and the nursing staff at Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, VT for the last couple months of care for Larry and made him very comfortable his last few days here on earth.
