Lorraine M. Hammond, 52, of Maynard Street, went in to the arms of the Lord, Saturday March 30, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family after losing her courageous battle with an illness.

Lorraine was born December 10, 1960 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Frank Williams Jr. and the late Clarence R. Martin and Marlene J. (Morris) Williams.

Her many enjoyments were her grandchildren, camping, playing cards, cooking, collecting nativity scenes, scratching Cashwords, playing bingo and going to the ocean.

She attended Fort Edward High School where she was a member of the color guard team, and then later obtained her GED.

Lorraine was a sales associate at Cumberland Farms for many years and also a visiting nurse aid.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine is predeceased her mother-in-law Sharron A. Hammond, brother-in-law Wayne Flagg Jr. and many of her favorite aunts and uncles

Besides her dad, survivors include her husband of 36 years Edward A. Hammond; their four children, Clifford, Heidi, Todd and Ben Hammond; her grandchildren, Amber, Austin, Joseph, Brianna, Emily, Jason, Jasmine, Jacob and Jacolbi ;her siblings, Sherry Bailey and her husband Dan of Fort Edward, Jane Flagg of Glens Falls, Cindy Martin of Glens Falls, Karen Hathaway and her husband Gary of Hudson Falls, Frank Williams III of Wells, VT, as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1p.m. following calling hours at the funeral home with Rev. Flossie Bates officiating.

After services there will be a family and friends gathering at 46 Sagamore Street Glens Falls, NY 12801.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine's memory to the C.R Wood Cancer Center c/o Glens Falls Hospital Foundation at 126 South Street Glens Falls, NY 12801.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at Tower 2 that helped Lorraine before her passing.
