Lynn M. Pingrey, 84, of Gansevoort Road, passed into the hands of his Lord on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born in Glens Falls on March 30, 1928, he was the son of the late Rutherford and Eleanor (Mix) Pingrey.

Lynn graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1946, as president of his Senior Class. He also attended Skidmore extension in Glens Falls and Russell Sage in Albany.

On August 3, 1947, Lynn married Louise Jacobie, his high school sweetheart, at the South Glens Falls Methodist Church.

Mr. Pingrey was Deputy Town Clerk and Tax Collector for the Town of Moreau for many years. He retired as an insurance Agent/Broker with Shine Leonelli Stark Agency of South Glens Falls.

Lynn was a member of the Adirondack Friends Church and a former member of South Glens Falls United Methodist Church where he sang in the church choir for many years. He was also a member of Corinth Lodge International Order of Odd Fellows, Town of Moreau Historical Society, South Glens Falls Senior Citizens, a former member of South Glens Falls Rotary Club, Eagles Lodge #2486, Town of Moreau Republican Club, Gansevoort Grange #832 and South Glens Falls Chamber of Commerce.

Lynn enjoyed bowling with the senior citizens of South Glens Falls and Glens Falls Seniors. He loved his family and friends and worshiped his five grandchildren and his three great-granddaughters.

Besides his parents, Lynn is predeceased by his three brothers, Lawrence, Richard and Paul, two sisters, Marjorie Looker and Lucille Bidwell.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 65 years Louise Pingrey, two daughters, Cynthia Hazelton and husband Sherrill of South Glens Falls, and Linda Pingrey of Ormand Beach, FL; five grandchildren: Christopher Hazelton and wife Marcia, Sarah Hay and husband Ken, Meredith Hazelton, Lauren Rose, and Erin Rose; and three great-granddaughters: Aubrey and Ellen Hay, and Mckenna Hazelton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Lynn’s request there will be no calling hours.

Service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Southside Cemetery, South Glens Falls.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn’s memory to Adirondack Friends Church, 25 Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
