Obituary for Maisie Ruth Suddard (Gifford)

FORT EDWARD

Maisie Ruth Suddard, 87, of Fort Edward, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020, at the Glens Falls Hospital with her loving daughters by her side.

Born on June 14, 1933 in Fort Edward, she was the daughter of the late Sherry and Emmaline (Colvin) Gifford.

Maisie was a graduate of Fort Edward High School. She worked at Fort Hudson Nursing Home for many years and retired from Tender Loving Care as a home health aide.

She had a heart of gold, beautiful inside and out, compassionate, loving, caring, giving and understanding. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. She loved her dogs Mario, Tye, and Nova. She loved talking with friends on the phone. Her family was her pride and joy, her 5 girls were her world. Her love for her grandchildren was unmeasurable. She attended their proms, graduations, musicals, weddings, and sporting events. She loved taking care of them when they were young and calling them on the phone. She had a zest for life, amazing strength, a beautiful smile, an unforgettable laugh, and saw the good in everyone. She had a style for dress and everything had to match. She loved watching cooking shows, baking, learning and sharing new recipes. She loved going to her class reunions at the Peppermill. She enjoyed Westerns, Hallmark, Lifetime, soap operas, owls, yellow roses, angels, the color green, Elvis, iced coffee and hot tea, collecting tea pots and Victorian dolls.

She was our BEST Friend, and we were blessed to have such a wonderful mom. A little giant with a large and gentle spirit. Eternally grateful and loving you forever Mom. You will be truly missed.

Besides her parents, Maisie was also predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, her daughter, Holly Wadsworth, her granddaughter, Angela Marie Kamburelis and her siblings, Catherine Critteli, Shirley Clark, Cassie Duket (Claude) Thomas and Sherry Gifford.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Deborah MacDonald (Darrell), Dawn Wadsworth (Steven Wade), Laurie Johnson & Lisa Johnson (Jeff), her son-in-law, Joseph Wadsworth; her grandchildren, Melissa Collins, James Kamburelis (Angel), Kenneth Wadsworth (Debbie), Tanya Forbes (Nelson), Jeffrey & Jeremy Johnson, Matthew & Michael Johnson; her 9 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Diane Morency (Mike), Joe Gifford (Tammy), her sisters-in-law, Joyce Pliscofsky, Gail Suddard and Carol Rabine and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
