GLENS FALLS
Margaret “Peg” Burnham, age 91, passed away at the Stanton Nursing Home on Friday, April 27, 2013 with her family at her bedside.

Peg was born in New York City on May 6, 1921 to the late Albert Vincent and Theresa (Fitzpatrick) Painter. Peg and her husband owned and operated Burnham’s Pharmacy on Broad Street in Glens Falls for many, many years, and then owned and operated Adirondack Costumes on Seward Street.

Family was first and foremost in Peg’s life and she spent every moment she could with her children and their extended families. She liked to play bingo, spend time at the casino and travel with her husband. They spent many winters in the Canary Islands, as well as traveling through Europe and the Caribbean. She had a great sense of humor and a strong Irish wit.

In addition to her husband and parents, Peg was predeceased by her daughter, Peggy Robillard, who passed away September 28, 2012.

Survivors include her son, Jim Burnham and his wife Jane, her daughter Donna Oliver and her husband Jim; her son-in-law, Roger Robillard; her brother, Joseph Painter and his wife Shirley; her grandchildren, Jim and Chris Burnham and their children Emma and London, Steve Burnham, Stacia and Jon Clifton and their children Catherine and Cynthia, Kari and Paul Zurlo and their children Maria, Ava, Anthony, and Angelo, Lori and Steve Below and their children Abigail, and Makenzie; and Crystal and Ralphael Pipino; her niece, Patty Lattimore; and her granddaughter-in-law, Irina Petrik.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. following the calling hour with Regina Haag of Adirondack Friends Meeting officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Glens Falls following the service.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Stanton Nursing Home for their compassion and care during Peg’s long stay in their competent care.
