Obituary for Margaret Waterhouse

Margaret Waterhouse
Fort Edward

Margaret Waterhouse, 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Glens Falls on July 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Cora (Irish) Morency.

Margaret was a lifelong resident of Fort Edward and graduated from Fort Edward School.

In 1972, she married Frank Andrew Waterhouse. They spent 26 years together before his passing in 1998.

She worked for W.T. Grants Department Store and then retired from the Mini Chopper in Queensbury as a manager in 2007 after many years of service.

Margaret was an extremely caring and wonderful person. She was the type of person who worried about others before herself. Margaret never asked for help and was very independent. She never wanted anyone to worry about her. She accepted everyone into her life and treated them like her own family. She loved spending time with her two friends, Edna Hubbard (who she was friends with for over 40 years) and Jane Jansen. Margaret enjoyed sitting on her back porch visiting with Edna and taking many trips to the Saratoga Casino with Jane.

In her younger years she enjoyed gardening, and bowling, in which she met her husband. She enjoyed sewing, baseball, was an avid Yankees fan, dinner with Edna on Sundays, reading, and any activity that involved family.

She loved all her grandchildren and spent most of her time with Hannah. She was our “rock” in so many ways. Margaret was unconditionally devoted to her family and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Besides her parents and husband, Margaret is predeceased by her two brothers, Wesley and Robert Morency

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, April L. Ringer and fiancé Royal Chadwick, son Andrew R. Waterhouse and fiancée, Patricia Jansen, grandchildren, Amberlyn R. Waterhouse, Andrew J. Maranville, Hannah E. Waterhouse, Royal, Aaliyha, and Morgan Chadwick, and Gregory Jansen, sisters, Fran Bartlett and husband Alfred, Shirley Thompson, and Kay Rose, brother, Gary Morency and wife Sherri, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
