Obituary for Marie Chadwick

Greenwich -

Marie Chadwick, 77, of Cynthia Meadows on Woodlawn Ave., Greenwich, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at Pleasant Valley, Argyle.

Born in Albany on May 5, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Monica (Hoffman) Harrington.

Marie worked at the Golden Fleece Paper Mill in Greenwich for many years. She moved to Lake Worth, Florida and worked as a nurses aide for 17 years at Darcey Hall in Lake Worth. She moved back to Greenwich but returned to Lake Worth every winter for 3 months to stay with her best friend Carol.

Marie was a cancer survivor and attended the Greenwich Relay for Life every year.

She was a member and past president of the Meadow Larkes at Cynthia Meadows. She enjoyed going to the casino and sitting in the sun at the beach.

Her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, were very special to her.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Dean Chadwick, a brother, Louie Harrington and a sister, Anna Masterangelo.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Weir and her husband Ernest of Greenwich, Darlene McSwaine and her husband Kenneth of Texas; her sons, Dennis Chadwick and his wife Elaine of Greenwich, Daniel Chadwick and his wife Cindy of Georgia; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; her sisters, Peggy Sweet of Vermont , Helen Andrews and her husband Jobie of Greenwich; and many nieces and nephews.

At Marie's request, there will be no calling hours.

A family gathering will be held at Debbie's home, 64 North Rd., Greenwich at a date to be announced.
