Obituary for Marie Thèrese Morin (Tanguay)

FORT EDWARD

Marie Thèrese (Tanguay) Morin, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

Born April 19, 1927 in Dixville, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Adèlard J. and Marie-Anne (Thèroux) Tanguay.

Marie Thèrese grew up in Canada. On June 22, 1946, she married Lucien Morin in Stanhope, Quebec. In 1951, they emigrated to the United States where they owned and operated Morin Trucking Company in Queensbury. Together they raised their family until his passing in 1998.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Annunciation Church in Queensbury where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society.

Marie Thèrese loved gardening and sewing. She especially loved to knit and was known for making beautiful sweaters, mittens and socks for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by her infant daughter Linda Morin, and her daughter Cecile McComsey.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Reine Monroe (Donnie), Nicole Monroe (Eugene), Susan Morin, Silvia Sheerer (Jay), Anne Marie Ziobrowski (Steve), Lucia O’Leary (Eddie), Mary Morin, and Lisa Morin (John), her sons; Leon Morin (Cheryl), Michel Morin (Betty), Robert Morin, John Morin, and Bruce Morin (Nancy), 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, her sister Angeline Tanguay, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 10-11am on Monday, April 22, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am following the calling hours.

Rite of Committal will follow mass at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fort Edward.
