Marilyn L. Dessaint, 81, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 23, 1941, in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Julie (Curles) Martin.
She was a 1962 graduate of Cocoa High School in Cocoa, FL. In 1966, Marilyn married the love of her life, Daniel Dessaint at Patrick Air Force Base Chapel in Florida. They were married for a wonderful 40 years until his passing in 2007.
For many years, Marilyn worked at the Glens Falls Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide and Secretary. She also enjoyed her time working for the Argyle Central School as the cafeteria lady.
Marilyn enjoyed senior trips and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Dessaint, her son, Eric Johnson, and her brother, Marvin Martin.
Left to cherish her memory include her children, Stanley (Lisa) Johnson, Debra Dessaint, Daniel (Christine) Dessaint, Jr., Timothy (Tracy) Dessaint; her brothers, Phillip (Georgia) Martin, Marshall (Diana) Martin, her grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the Durkeetown Baptist Church, 2 Durkeetown Road, Fort Edward. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm with Pastor Mike Neigh.
Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle, NY.
