Mary Jacquelyn "Jackie"  Sholes (Holdridge)
Fort Edward

Mary Jacquelyn (Holdridge) Sholes, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born in New Berlin on April 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Harry Leroy and Mildred (Adams) Holdridge.

Jackie graduated from New Berlin High School. In 1947, she graduated from the State University of new York at Cortland where she was an Alpha Delta Sorority Member. Jackie did her graduate studies at SUNY Albany and SUNY Plattsburg.

At Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in New Berlin, NY, Jackie married Warren Sholes on August 20, 1949. They were married by Father Tite.

Jackie worked for over 30 years at Fort Edward High School as a physical education teacher.

She was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church in Hudson Falls, a former Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Jackie enjoyed, all crafts, playing cards with pitch and poker her favorites, cooking and entertaining friends at the family camp on Friends Lake in the Adirondacks.

Besides her parents, Jackie is predeceased by her brothers, Lawrence Holdridge and Carlton Holdridge.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 64 years Warren Sholes of Fort Edward, children, Carol Sholes and husband Bob Wallace of Baltimore, MD, Deb Sholes and husband Steve Haberstroh of St. Louis, MO, Jim Sholes of South Glens Falls, and Jane Griffiths and her husband Bob of Fort Ann, grandchildren, Amanda Engelkamp and husband Kevin, Crystal Wallace, Eric Fitzgerald and wife Hillary, and Kristen Fitzgerald, one great grandson, Talan Fitzgerald, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, January 29, 2014at the Zion Episcopal Church 232 Main Street Hudson Falls, NY 12839 with Rev. Richard Chandler Jr., Rector, officiating. A reception will follow at the church.

Interment will be at 10:30am Friday, April 11, 2014 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road Schuylerville, NY.
