Maud Gamble, 95, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Haynes House of Hope in Granville.

Born on July 20, 1918 in West Hebron, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Caroline (French) Anderson.

Maud married George Gamble on June 25, 1941. He passed away on Aug. 10, 1992. Maud graduated from Oneonta College on Jan. 23, 1959. She was a former Elementary School Teacher in Fort Edward and in Argyle retiring after 31 years. Maud also helped farm with her husband with a team of horses as their first tractor. She especially loved horses and enjoyed painting in her spare time. She was a former member of the Fort Miller Reformed Church and a former member of the Verengheit Circle at the Church.

Besides her parents and husband, Maud was also predeceased by her step-sister Inez Germain.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Mark F. Gamble of Fort Edward ; her two grandsons, Mark J. Gamble and his wife Pricilla of Amsterdam and Matthew Gamble and his wife Caitlin of Glens Falls ; her great grandchildren, Zachary, Christopher, and Abigale Gamble; her brother, Francis Anderson of Fort Edward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be conducted at 11:00am on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter Bailey, pastor of the Fort Miller Reformed Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Haynes House of Hope, Granville, NY 12832.
