Obituary for Michael Stephen Lohret

Michael Stephen Lohret
It is with great sadness that the family of Michael S. Lohret announces his unexpected passing on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Albany Medical Center.

Born on November 13, 1963 to Sheila (Collins) and the late Joseph G. Lohret in Glens Falls.

Mike grew up on the family dairy farm on Lohret Rd in Argyle and graduated from Argyle Central School in 1982. He entered the Army shortly afterward. After returning from the service, Mike worked as a heavy equipment operator for Carl Lufkin, who he had the greatest respect for. He then worked for Tracy Brothers and most recently for Peckham Materials.

Mike was a very dedicated son, uncle, brother, and friend. He was always there to lend a helping hand to family members and friends and will be greatly missed by many. Mike enjoyed bowling, taking his nephews ice fishing, his dog Thunder, participating in the Demolition Derby at the Washington County Fair, was an avid New England Patriots fan, and most of all, spending time with his many friends and family.

Besides his father, Mike is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Gabrielle Lohret and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Gladys Collins.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Sheila Lohret, his siblings, Joseph G. Lohret III both of Argyle, Mary Newton and husband Bob of Carthage, NY, Roberta Brown and husband Russell, Mark Lohret, Matthew Lohret and wife Karen, Terri Bristol and husband Glenn all of Argyle, and Peter Lohret and wife Jayne of Glastonbury, CT. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Michael and Andrew Lohret, Robert Newton, Elizabeth Shawback, Nick Newton, Jessica Shiels, Jacob and Sarah Brown, Gary, Anthony, and Zach Lohret, Philip, Katie, Grace and Daniel Lohret, Amber Bolster, Jenn, Brit and James Bristol, as well as his great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins, close friend, Bruce Martin, and many other close friends.

Friends may call from 12pm-2pm on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 123 Main Street, Argyle, NY 12809. Online condolences may be posted at www.kilmerfuneralhome.com.

A funeral service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor of St Joseph Church, officiating.
