Obituary for Michael P. Sharkey

Michael P.  Sharkey
QUEENSBURY
Michael P. Sharkey, II, age 21, passed away unexpectedly as the result of a motor vehicle accident on June 21, 2012.

Michael was the son of Michael P. Sharkey and Cherie L. (Dickerson) Sharkey. He attended Ticonderoga Central School where he played baseball and football.

Mikey was baptized in and a member of St. Mary’s Church in Ticonderoga. He served as an altar server in St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.

Affectionately known as “the Bug”, Mikey loved fishing, bowling, playing baseball, watching football, spending time with friends, and just being with his close family. He was very fond of his nephews and niece, and a proud stockholder of the Green Bay Packers.

Michael was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Patrick Sharkey, and his maternal grandfather, James Dickerson.

Survivors include his parents, Cherie and Michael Sharkey; his sister, Elana Parker, her husband, Chuck “a-Rooski”, and their children, Logan and Makayla; his sister, Kara Sharkey, and her son, Aidyn; his sister, Destany Sharkey; his paternal grandmother, Alberta Sharkey; his maternal grandmother, Norma Dickerson; a special uncle, Rick Mott; several other uncles, aunts and cousins; as well as his constant 4-legged companion, Tyson.

Friends may call on the family, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 between 4 and 7 p.m. at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St, So. Glens Falls, NY 12803. Online condolences may be posted at kilmerfuneralhome.com.

A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 7 p.m. with Deacon Elliot Shaw of St. Mary’s in Ticonderoga presiding.

Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Meadow Knoll Cemetery, Putnam Station, NY.

Donations in Michael’s memory may be made to the Glens Falls Hospital Behavorial Health Unit, 100 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
