Obituary for Milton H. Dewey

HARTFORD

Milton H. Dewey, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born September 11, 1942 in Hudson Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Lawrence Henry and Eva Belden (Fritz) Dewey.

On July 23, 1966, he married Ella Mae McMurry in Lebanon, NH. Together they raised their family until her passing in 2014.

Milton was employed by the Town of Hartford as the Deputy Superintendent of the Highway Department until his retirement after 32 years of service.

Milton enjoyed working on cars and doing autobody repairs, not only with his own father, but with his children as well. He was also an avid hunter and outdoorsman and traveled to Canada and Caribou, Maine to go on special hunts. He also loved to travel. He and Ella took a tour of the US including the western parts of the country and Las Vegas. Most of all, Milton loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Milton is predeceased by his sibilings; Gerald Wells, Elizabeth Monroe, Connie Cole, and Lawrence K. Dewey.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Scott Dewey (Arlene), Cindy Blackstone (Ned), Michael Dewey (Stacey), Kevin Dewey (Susan), and Rebecca Hasemann ( Scott), his grandchildren; Kneesaa Stone (Joshua), Delta Dewey, Kaneesha Dewey, Danielle Blackstone, Curtis Dewey (Cassandra), Bradley Dewey, Zachary Dewey, and Bailey Rocafuerte (Kevin), his great-grandchildren; Joshua and Richard Stone, Hunter and Hailey Dewey, Bentley and Wyatt Dewey, Hunter Dewey, Shelby and Kimberly Stone, Alice and David Wagner, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call from 4-7pm on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Argyle, NY 12809. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. Patti Girard officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday May 11, 2019 at 11 am at Morningside Cemetery in Hartford.
