Muriel Storey Sollosy, 88, of Argyle., passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born in Fort Edward on January 1, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Worth and Harriet (Anderson) Stickney.

Muriel was a graduate of Fort Edward High School Class of 1941.

Muriel worked as a photographer for the Stones Studio in Fort Edward and as a waitress at Howard Johnsons in South Glens Falls.

She was a founding member of the North Argyle Community Church and taught Sunday School at the church. She entertained Fresh Air Children each summer, was a member of the Washington County Extension, Merry Makers, for years. She also was a member of the Promenaders Square Dance Club and they dances at the World’s Fair in New York.

She was a member of the Argyle Presbyterian Church.

Muriel also enjoyed gardening. She was a “rose test” gardner for Jackson and Perkins and named a “rose of the year” in 1964.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Roscoe Storey, a sister, Eileen Jones, a nephew Gary Jones and her brother, William Stickney.

Muriel is survived by her husband, Frank Sollosy of Argyle, her nephew Richard Jones and his wife, Margaret and their children, Emily and Irene Jones of Silver Springs, a niece, Donna Sutton and her children Jane and Sally Sutton and Gabe Sutton and his wife Olivia and their son Owen.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7 at the Argyle Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Steven McLean, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow at North Argyle Cemetery.
