Nicholas F. "Nick"  Ruotolo
HUDSON FALLS -

Nicholas F. Ruotolo , 88, of Perkins Drive, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 at his home.

Born in Fort Edward on Feb. 19, 1924, he was the son of the late Louis and Theresa (Zeto) Ruotolo.

Nick was a graduate of Fort Edward High School, Adirondack Community College and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Nick served in the US Navy during WW II.

He married, the love of his life, Olympia “Limp” Aurelia in St. Joseph Church, Fort Edward.

For many years, Nick and Limp ran a canteen club for teenagers in Fort Edward called the “Republican Club”. Their home was always open to the teenagers who attended the canteen.

Nick was a former member of the Fort Edward Lions Club. He was a very active member of St. Joseph Church, he was an usher, a former member of the parish council, and active in many ministries in the church. He was very devoted to St. Joseph parish.

He worked at General Electric, Decora Company, and retired from Ciba Geigy.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Limp in 2002; his 3 brothers, John, Michael Sr. and Eugene Ruotolo; 2 nephews, Michael Jr. and John Ruotolo.

Survivors include 4 nieces, Diane Carroll and her husband Jim of Moncks Corners, SC, Theresa Healey and her husband, Tim of Argyle, Ann-Marie Boyce and her husband Chris of Clayton, Ohio and Holly Shishik and her husband Serge of Greenfield Center, a special friend, Sandy Dickinson and her husband Steve of South Glens Falls, and many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 9 am to 11 am on Friday, August 24, 2012 at St. Joseph Church, Broadway Fort Edward.
A funeral mass will follow at 11 am at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuck, pastor, officiating.

Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Edward.
