Nora E. Mansfield Corcoran Goldsmith, 91, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Fort Hudson Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 22, 1921 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jennie (Collier) Mansfield.

Nora graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Glens Falls in 1939.

She worked as a Medical Office Manager for Dr. David H. Thompson in Glens Falls for over 40 years retiring at age 82.

In 1943 she married Thomas Corcoran; they spent 29 years together before his passing in 1972. In 1982, she married William F. Goldsmith.

Nora enjoyed reading, Bingo with friends, scratch off tickets, and her occasional trip to the Racino in Saratoga. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Besides her parents and first husband, Nora is predeceased by an infant son, Thomas Brian Corcoran, her sister and brothers, Mary, Thomas, and Robert Mansfield and his wife Harriet, and brother’s in-law, Richard, James and Theodore Corcoran.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 30 years William Goldsmith, daughters, Sharon Silverman and husband Stephen and Janice Corcoran and fiancé Tim Dwyer, sons, Timothy Corcoran and wife Patricia and Thomas Corcoran and wife Joyce, three special granddaughters, Erin, Shannon, and Jodie, numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren, three sister’s in-law, Patricia, Dympna, and Phyllis, a special family member, Michele Parker, as well as several step children, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call from 10 am- 11 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave. South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A Memorial Service will follow at the church with the Rev. Guy A. Childs, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery South Glens Falls.

Donations may be made in Nora’s name to Fort Hudson Nursing Home, 319 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828 or Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer at Albany Medical Center, c/o Albany Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 8928, Albany, NY 12208.
