Obituary for Norma Hazelton

Norma  Hazelton
FORT EDWARD

Norma Hazelton, 89, of Roger Street, passed away Saturday May 11, 2013 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born September 25, 1923 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Bertha (Dunbar) Hazelton.

Norma graduated in the Fort Edward class of 1941, she was the first of her family to ever graduate.

She was very proud of her house on Roger Street which she helped build. Norma loved to garden to keep her house looking its best. She enjoyed traveling with her family and best friend Dorothy Woodard.

Norma worked at General Electric from 1949-1986. She started working at the General Electric located in Schenectady during WWII and finished her career in Fort Edward.

Besides her parents, Norma is predeceased by her seven sisters: Helen Dietze, Dorothy Baker, Ruth Harrington, Alice Nesnott, Elizabeth Hazelton, Arlene Morehouse and Joyce Hazelton: six brothers, William Hazelton, Walter Hazelton, Robert Hazelton, Sherrill Hazelton, Richard Hazelton, and Donald Hazelton.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews; Sherrill Hazelton, Debbie Healy, Stephen Hazelton, Bonita Hazelton, Louise Dwinell, Marilyn Stevens, Jona Trackey, Nancy Buffum and Bill Hazelton; as well as many other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will follow calling hours at 6p.m.at the funeral home with Rev. Robert McCrory, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls, officiating.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday May 16, 2013 at Union Cemetery.
