Obituary for Patricia Anne Carpenter (King)
Fort Edward —
Patricia King Carpenter, 84, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19th, 2019.
Born on April 21, 1934 she was a lifelong resident of Fort Edward NY, daughter of the late Joseph Earl King and Margaret Whaley King. Patricia graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1953.
She married the love of her life Robert Carpenter in August 1956 and celebrated 62 years of beautiful marriage. Larry Lafar and Jane King were their best man and maid of honor.
Patricia had a successful career in management at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals in Argyle NY and stayed in touch with her beloved employees for many years after her retirement.
Patricia loved life and lived it to its fullest. She cherished time with friends and family and was known for being a woman about town. She enjoyed eating at the best restaurants, traveling, visiting casinos and traveled with the Drum Corps for many years. Her greatest accomplishment though was her family and she enjoyed nothing more than attending any events involving her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She often traveled far and wide to attend their sporting events, proms and graduations.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her brother, Leonard Joseph King.
Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Robert Carpenter, her children, Anne Fox, Jeanne Etu and her husband Brian Etu, Patrick Carpenter and his wife Callee, her brother Joseph King and his wife Linda and her sister in law Lois King. Patricia’s treasured grandchildren include Sara McDaniel and her husband Hampton, Kristie Moon and her husband Robert, Tara Fox, Erin Gibb and her husband Kevin, Shaun Etu and his wife Kaitlyn, Emily Carpenter and Bridget Carpenter. Her adored great grandchildren are, Noah McDaniel, Cole McDaniel, Quinn McDaniel, Trevor Moon and Ben Etu. Patricia had several special nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends in her long life as well.
At Patricia’s request there will be no calling hours.
Patricia will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
The Rite of Committal will be ion Saturday May 18, 2019 at 12 noon in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Edward.
Memorial donations in Patricia’s name can be made to the Washington Center Activities Fund, 4573 State Route 40, Argyle, NY 12809.
