Obituary for Peter D. Cheeney
HUDSON FALLS
Peter D. Cheeney, 73, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at the Stratton VA Hospital in Albany, NY following a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born August 11, 1949, in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Roderick and Loana (Manell) Cheeney.
Pete attended Fort Edward High School and enlisted at the age of 17 years old in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country in Vietnam.
Upon his return home, Pete was employed for many years at Scott Paper in Fort Edward, NY.
In addition to his parents, Pete is predeceased by many relatives, but he cherished his youngest daughter, Kristina L. Graham, who passed on June 28, 2019. He missed her and loved her with all his heart.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Becky; his daughter, Lori (Rob) Gleason; his brother, Bob (Bev) Cheeney; his grandchildren, Dominic Graham, Ian (Delaney) Graham, and Jamie Gleason; 3 nephews, Rob and Mike Cheeney, and Matthew West; 2 nieces, Lindsey West and April Allen; and a great nephew, Bentley Breault; his sister in laws, Sandra (Bill) West and Patty (Jack) Goodspeed.
Pete and Becky would like to thank Pete’s extended families at the American Legion Post 574 for all their support and kindness through Pete’s long battle. The family would also like to thank his other extended family at the Hadlock Campground for all their love and support and wonderful summers he enjoyed with them.

A Spring Burial with full military honors will be conducted at 11am on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
The family wishes to thank Pete’s friends and caregivers over the years who made his life so fun and worthwhile.
