Obituary for Renee Anne Brown (Cousineau)

SOUTH GLENS FALLS

Renée (Cousineau) Brown, 62, joined her beloved father in Heaven on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the Glens Falls Hospital with her family by her side.

Born April 19, 1961 in Sharon Springs, NY, she was the daughter of Judith (Waite) Howenstein, and the late Leonel Cousineau.

On March 12, 1988, Renée married Peter Brown in St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.

She graduated from SUNY Cortland and earned her Masters Degree from Kaplan University attaining a 4.0 GPA which she was extremely proud of. She was employed as a behavioral specialist at Saratoga Bridges, and previously worked for AIM services for many years.

Renée was beloved at her job by clients and coworkers alike. She had a passion for caring for others that was unmatched. Through crises and stressful situations, she remained the bright light of hope for those around her. With her quick wit and infectious laugh, she could make anyone smile through the dark times. Renée will always be remembered for being a supportive presence and an uplifting spirit to all who knew her. Although there were things that she lacked in her own life, she made sure to give back those same things to others tenfold.

Renée’s caring nature didn’t end with work. She was a lover of all animals including her dearly departed Cocker Spaniel Maxwell, as well as Winston and Otis who will surely miss her terribly. She loved to cook, and was an avid reader. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 35 years, Peter Brown, her daughter Alexa Brown, her mother, Judith Howenstein, her brothers, Richard Cousineau (Janet) and Steven Cousineau (Sue), her nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn Cousineau, Cameron Cousineau, Reese Cousineau, and Sydney Cousineau, her step-daughter Jennifer Gates (Andrew), her step-granddaughter Gracelyn Gates, her special aunt Marlene “Mickey” Wilson (Gary), as well as several cousins.

Arrangements are in the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

At the family’s request there will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday November 29, 2023 at St. Mary’s Church, 62 Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.

Rite of Committal will follow Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
