Richard E. "Elvis"  DeGraw
FORT EDWARD
Richard E. DeGraw "Elvis", 72, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at his home on Center Street.

Born on May 14, 1938 in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Arthur and Pauline M. (Williams) DeGraw.

Richard grew up and was a lifelong resident of Fort Edward. A hard worker from youth, Richard retired from Decora in Fort Edward after 35 years of service.

He was an avid Elvis Presley fan who enjoyed singing his tunes while working (also, where he earned his nickname). In his younger days Richard was quite a high-stepper and loved to go out dancing anytime. Richard also enjoyed watching baseball and was a known Yankees fanatic...and criticizer

Besides his parents, his brother Robert DeGraw and his sister Marie DeGraw also predeceased him.

Elvis was survived by his sister, Deanna Roberts and her husband Paul of Queensbury; his sister-in-law, Mary DeGraw Wood of Florida; his nephews, Darrin Roberts of Queensbury, Todd Roberts and his wife Sheri, of Latham, Arthur DeGraw and his wife Beth of Gansevoort, Robert DeGraw and his wife Alison of Saratoga, Frank DeGraw and his wife Roxanne of Glenville, Thomas DeGraw and his wife Kim of Queensbury, David DeGraw and his wife Michele of Saratoga, and Ritchie DeGraw of Glens Falls.

Friends may call on the family before the funeral from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828. To send an expression of sympathy, please visit our web site at www.kilmerfuneralhome.com

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010 at St. Joseph's Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828, with Fr. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Edward.
