Richard “Skeeter” Farry, 74, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born in Glens Falls on June 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Philip and Lola (White) Farry.

He was a graduate of South Glens Falls School class of 1958 and received an associates degree from SUNY Canton in 1960.

On September 23, 1961 he married Dorine Lemery at St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls.

He worked for DeLongs Dairy as a Milk Man, Finch and Pruyn, Rist Frost and Ray Strankowski Engineering all in Glens Falls, and Integrated Building Systems in East Greenbush.

Skeeter enjoyed fishing, watching football, the racino, Saratoga Race Track, golf, and especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His last Sunday was spent on the dock fishing with his grandchildren all day.

Besides his parents, Richard is predeceased by four brothers, Dr. Gregory Farry and wife Pat, William Farry, Phillip Farry and wife Betty, and Robert Farry and wife Naomi.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 52 years, Dorine Farry, children, Kimberly Smith and husband Vern of Dacula, GA, Kelly Noll and husband Rob of Nantucket, MA, Kyle Farry and wife Elizabeth of South Glens Falls, Kristen Naylor and husband Larry Brown of Queensbury, and Kara Hendrick and husband Rob of Queensbury, grandchildren, Dr. Jessanna Smith and husband Richard Sloan, Justin Smith, Elise Naylor, Emma Brown, Sophie Noll, Eden, Molli, Preston, Quintin, Sadie, Jett and Keegan Hendrick, Colin Farry, and Eben Farry, great grandchildren, Brayden Smith and Henley Sloan, sister in-law, Sharon Farry, June Girard and husband, Lee, Joyce Rankine, close friends, Kay and Ron Williamson, Tom Morin and Donna Williams, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 9:30am on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Guy A. Childs, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church, officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Southside Cemetery, Moreau.
