Rita (Morse) Knapp, 90, of Route 4, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010 at her home after a long illness.

Born on May 27, 1919 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Etta (Reed) Morse.

Rita worked for Chase Bag for over 23 years. She was a former member of the Hartford Baptist Church and was recently a member of the Hudson Falls Baptist Church. She was a member of the Queensbury Senior Citizens and enjoyed her family, knitting, crocheting and reading.

Her husband Harold L. Knapp Sr. passed away August 23, 1998.

Besides her parents and husband she was also predeceased by her son, Carl Knapp, her infant granddaughter, Laurie Knapp, her grandson, George Knapp, her son-in-law, Robert Taylor as well as three sisters, Ina Harrington, Alta Morse and Gladys Morse and Gladys's twin at infancy, Glen Morse.

Survivors include her sons; Harold Knapp Jr. and his wife Eileen of Bomoseen, Vt. , Louis Knapp and his wife Christa of Cameron, NC and William Knapp and his wife Gail of Comstock , her daughters, Betty Taylor of Interlachen, FL and Carolyn Carlton of Dresden; her sister, Edna Harrington of Granville; brother, Neal Morse of Hartford; 27 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Following the services at the funeral home a reception will be held at the Hartford Volunteer Fire Co. Route 40, Hartford.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, Hartford on March 27, 2010 at 1:00pm.
