Robert John Rich, 60, of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers following a brief illness.
Born on August 8, 1959 in Passau, Germany, he was the son of the late Robert and Cornelia (Hoek). Growing up in Dix Hills New York, Bob loved being with his friends and family. He liked music and mechanics. He would be the first to offer help to people, and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had a passion for cooking and enjoyed preparing food for loved ones.
Bob moved to Fort Myers to be closer to his dad and second mom Barbara (Loeffler) Rich. When his Dad became ill, Bobby moved in and lovingly cared for his father. Whenever in New York, Bob thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his niece Sophia as well as all members of the Roth/Gatti family.
He is survived by sisters: Eileen C. Rich and Donna M. Rich, niece Sophia M. Rich, sister-in-law Debra Roth, siblings from a second marriage: Ed (Betsy) Loeffler, Victoria (John) Leahy, and Ron Loeffler, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, uncle, and friends.
Bob is now resting easy. We will miss him dearly.
