Obituary for RoseAnn Harvey (Micalizzi)

QUEENSBURY

RoseAnn Harvey, 91, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Warren Center with her husband by her side.

Born August 4, 1932, in New Rochelle, NY, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rosamund (Spafford) Micalizzi.

RoseAnn graduated from Mamaroneck High School, Class of 1950, and of the NY School of Business Practice & Speech, Class of 1951.

RoseAnn married Jack Harvey Sr. on February 19, 1966 in New Jersey.

RoseAnn was employed for over thirty years as a legal secretary and paralegal in the Glens Falls area. Upon her retirement she opened and operated JR’s Diner in South Glens Falls with her husband Jack.

RoseAnn was very involved in the community. She was a member of the NY State Legal Secretaries, a member and past president of the Warren County Legal Secretaries Association, and a member of the Moreau Town Board Ethics Committee. She was also a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St Ann’s Church in Fort Ann, as well as a member and Past President of the Parish Council. Additionally, RoseAnn was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls, and also served on many various church-related committees. RoseAnn was an avid Jets fan.

In addition to her parents, RoseAnn is predeceased by her brothers, John Micalizzi, Andrew Micalizzi, Ralph Micalizzi, and Joseph Micalizzi, her sisters, Mary Jane Micalizzi and Patricia Freeman, as well as her son-in-law Edward Sims.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Jack Harvey Sr., her sons, Andrew Nelson (Rhoda), and George Nelson, her daughter Carol Ann Sims, her grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Nelson and Sam and Sadie Zollinger, her sister Natalie Murray, her stepsons, Jack Harvey Jr. (Carole), and Keith Harvey (Ann), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At RoseAnn’s request there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are in the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Monday, November 13, 2023 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY with Father Guy A. Childs, Pastor officiating.

Rite of Committal will be private and at the convenience of the family.
