Obituary for Rudolph John "Rudy" Klick

SOUTH GLENS FALLS

Rudolph John Klick passed away on Friday, April 26,2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Rudy was born on July 8, 1943, in Middletown, CT to the late Sophie Antonina (Dykas) and John Joseph Klick of Moodus, CT. Rudy graduated from Nathan Hale-Ray High School in 1961 and Bryant (College) University in Rhode Island in 1966 with a B.S. in Accounting. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany from 1966 – 1969.

Rudy met his wife Margaret M. (Murphy) in 1964, while both were attending Bryant College. They were married on September 30, 1967, at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls, NY.

Rudy joined the Accounting Department at Finch Pruyn & Co. in 1971, retiring in 2003, after 32 years of service. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working for the Supervisors of the Town of Moreau.

Rudy spent his summers coaching Little League and Girls’ Softball for many years as his children were growing up. He was an active member and third-degree Knight, in the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Robert A. Nugent Council 11160 at St. Michael the Archangel Church. He cherished his friends Peter Noyes, Ron Belisle, and the late Fred Smith and their favorite dinners out at the Dog Team Tavern in Vermont and the Peppermill in South Glens Falls. Rudy was known by neighbors, friends, and family as generous, kind, and a caretaker of all.

Rudy was predeceased by his parents and his sister Janet Martell along with two infant brothers. Rudy is survived by his wife of 56 years Margaret (Murphy) Klick, his children Susanne Casey, Anthony (Melissa) Klick, William Klick, Mary (David) Bailey, and Theresa (Michael) Taylor, his grandchildren Christopher (Christina), Timothy, and Jeremiah Casey, Lauren (Jakob) Kratzenberg, Madison and Daniel Klick, Johnathan and Andrew Klick, Abigail, James, Jackson, and Anthony Bailey, and a great-grandchild due in August.

The family would like to thank Dr. Aqeel Gillani, Dr. David Cunningham, and The Community Hospice – Saratoga & Washington. Especially Vicki G., Kim J., Joyce C., Emily, Monica, Diana and Chaplain Tom R. for their kindness and care in Rudy’s remaining days. We would like to thank friends Ron, Gary, Peggy, and Mary M. as well as the Parish of St. Michael’s and Father Tony for their emotional support.

Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home at 136 Main St. South Glens Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 11am at St. Michael the Archangel Church at 80 Saratoga Avenue in South Glens Falls with Rev. Guy A. Childs, pastor, officiating. All are welcome to share in a bereavement luncheon at the Parish Hall following the service.

Rite of committal will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 1:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
