Obituary for Shelly Lee Labshere

Shelly Lee Labshere
Hudson Falls

Shelly Lee Labshere went to Heaven on August 21, 2013 surrounded by her loving family and friends after a short courageous battle with cancer.

Shelly was born on March 31, 1967, the daughter of Sandra and Robert Bigelow, as well as her biological father Robert Labshere and his wife Cheryl.

She was a member of the Hudson Falls High School graduating class of 1985. She earned a degree in cosmetology from Cologna Beauty School and studied graphic arts at Adirondack Community College.

Shelly worked as a millwright for Metso Paper where she traveled the country and Rozell Industries.

In high school, she was active in many sports and held the NYS women’s record in diving competitions, and Shelly was also the first girl to play little league in Hudson Falls.

Shelly certainly loved life and lived hers to the fullest. She was so fun loving. Shelly made everyone she ever met laugh out loud and her silly laugh was so contagious.

Her hobbies included riding her Harley, traveling, scuba diving, hunting, fishing, gardening and volunteering for many cancer rides.

Shelly is predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors include her parents, her beautiful children, Matthew Mazula of Hudson Falls and Amanda Houle and her boyfriend Kenneth Pugh of Glens Falls, brothers, Bob Labshere and fiancé Lisa Jeorg of Hudson Falls, Dan Labshere and wife Bonnie of Hudson Falls, Robert Bigelow and wife Patty of Hudson Falls, Brian Bigelow and wife Cindy of Queensbury, Michael Bigelow and wife Terry of Hudson Falls, sister Debbie Sweet and husband Bob of Hudson Falls, and Shelly’s twin sister Sherry Rivers and her late husband Harry Rivers Jr. of South Glens Falls, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
