Obituary for Shirley LaSarso (Doyle)

Queensbury
Shirley M. LaSarso, 83, of the Willows, died peacefully at the Glens Falls Hospital on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, surrounded by her loving family.
A life long resident of Fort Edward, Shirley was born in Fort Edward on March 20, 1925, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Linendoll) Doyle .
Shirley graduated from the Fort Edward High School, Class of 1942.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.
Shirley worked for many years at Smith’s Bakery in Fort Edward and later worked at Fort Hudson Nursing Home in Fort Edward.
She devoted her life to her family and friends. She always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones.
Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her first husband LeRoy Smith, her second husband, of 47 years, Gabriel LaSarso, her son, Edward Smith, her daughter, Suzanne Smith, her sister, Agnes M. Clarke and her step-daughter, Sheri Miller.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Patricia Weston and her husband Michael of Ogdensburg and Maria O’Connor and her husband, Kevin of Queensbury; a step-daughter, Nedra Shaw and her husband James of Saratoga Springs; a step son-in-law, Douglas Miller of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Keith, Kristopher and Maria Weston of Ogdensburg; Nicole and Nia O’Connor of Queensbury, Jeff Smith of Hudson Falls; step grandchildren, Jine’ Gleason and her husband, John, of Clifton Park, James Shaw and his wife, Susan, of Clearwater, FL, April McClements and her husband, Joseph of Gansevoort, Tawn Driscoll and her husband, Bennett, of Glens Falls, Scott Miller and his wife Kathie of South Glens Falls; her great grandchildren, Christopher, Zachary and Ashley Weston and Terrin Smith; step great-grandchildren, Sean Driscoll, Jessica and Erik Miller, Alyx Gleason, Garrett and Mason Shaw, Jace and Rece McClements,; a sister, Margaret P. Beale of Fort Edward; a brother-in-law, Angelo LaSarso and his wife Grace of Hudson Falls; two sisters-in-law, Barbara LaSarso and Mary Andriano both of Hudson Falls; nieces, Sharon Flexon, Donna Prout, Linda Doyle, Luanne Beale and Dawn Collins and nephew Scott Beale.
The family would like to thank Shirley’s doctors and the incredible nurses and hospital staff at Glens Falls Hospital, T3, especially Elaine, Mary-Grace, Carrie, Mary Beth and Lorraine. Your kindness and compassion was greatly appreciated.
Friends may call from 4 �" 7 on Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 at the M. B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 4 at St. Joseph Church, Fort Edward with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.
Rite of Committal will follow at Union Cemetery, Fort Edward.
