Obituary for Steven Michael Horstmyer

Fort Edward

Steven Michael Horstmyer, 66, of Fort Edward passed away unexpectedly in Queensbury.

Born on March 12, 1953 in Niskayuna, he was the son of the late Shirley (Jones) Horstmyer and Robert and Barbara Horstmyer of Mechanicville.

Steven was a U.S. Air Force Veteran proudly serving his country from 1972 to 1974. He worked as a truck driver for Timco Logistics and enjoyed the travel his job offered. He loved his family, especially his children and his pets. He was a known car enthusiast and enjoyed camping, boating, beautiful Lake George, trips to Maine and playing with his dog Zena every weekend.

Besides his mother, he was also predeceased by an infant brother, Jonathan.

Left to cherish his memory besides his father and step-mother, include his former wife and friend, Dawn Doroski, his children; Dyna Doroski-Horstmyer Steven Doroski-Horstmyer, Andrea Horstmyer (Leo), Jonathan Horstmyer (Elly), Amanda Horstmyer (Micah), and their mother Linda; his grandchildren; Salaci, Sukari, Zuriah, Amethyst, Ayanna and Dylan, his sisters, Kathleen Dartt (Randall) of Schenectady and Valerie Peluso (Jason) of Mechanicville and his nieces and nephews; Carolyn and Katharine Dartt, Julian, Joshua and Lydia Peluso.

At Steven's request there will be no calling hours.

Military Honors will be rendered May 10th at 10:00 am at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.
