Obituary for Suzanne Marie Murphy (Ely)

Suzanne (Ely) Murphy, 39, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born in Glens Falls on September 30, 1974, she was the daughter of John and Gwendolyn (Stokes) Ely.
Suzanne was a 1992 graduate of South Glens Falls High School. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Hobart William Smith College and a Master’s degree in Divinity from Harvard University.
On August 3, 2002, she married her longtime love Kelly Murphy at First Presbyterian Church in Glens Falls and was married by Rev. John E. Barclay.
Suzanne was an accomplished writer, both professionally and personally. Her friends and family thought she had a way with words that could make you laugh or cry at the same time.
She was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Suzanne always wanted what was best for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her children, who were her pride and joy in life.
Suzanne was a proud recipient from the 2013 South Glens Falls Marathon Dance.
She is preceded in death by her infant twin daughter Cora in 2011.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 11 years, Kelly Murphy, three beloved boys, Rory, Kyan, and Crosby, parents, John and Gwen Ely, brother, Andrew Ely, in-laws, John “Toby” and Janet Murphy, brother in-law, Shawn Murphy and wife Kate, nieces and nephews, Jackson, Dillon, Aidan, Emily, and Madison, along with many special friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at The First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls 400 Glen Street, Glens Falls, NY, 12801 with Rev. John E. Barclay, pastor, officiating.
Burial will take place in Pine View Cemetery, 21 Quaker Road, Queensbury, NY 12804 immediately following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations Suzanne’s memory may be made to the Murphy Children College Benefit Fund, c/o Trustco Bank,118 Quaker Road, Queensbury, NY 12804.
