Fort Edward
Sylvia Marion Goodspeed, 90, of Fort Edward, passed away on Monday December 12, 2022 at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on June 2, 1932, in Indian Lake, she was the daughter of John and Sarah (Campney) Leddick.
Sylvia grew up in Brooklyn and accomplished a lot in her life. She was a Registered Nurse and supervisor at Fort Hudson Nursing Home. While at the nursing home, she was in head of teaching CNA 's. She loved to travel and along with her sister they enjoyed going to New York City Christmas Show every year. She loved family gatherings, singing with her brothers and sisters, collecting lighthouses, and especially spending time with her family.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her former husband Leo Goodspeed; her sons, Mark and David Goodspeed; her brother, Melvin and sisters, Lee Ross and Anna Mae Goodspeed; her brother-in-law, David Millington.
Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Molly Kandora (Thomas) of Queensbury, Teresa Sanfilippo (Jeff) of Fort Edward, Jennifer Stenken (Gary) of Glens Falls ;her sons, Bruce Goodspeed (Theresa) of Mashpee, MA, Matthew Goodspeed (Jacqueline) of Queensbury, Thomas Goodspeed of Queensbury and Anthony Goodspeed (Jenn); her 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; her siblings, Michael Leddick (Rita) of Olmsteadville, Margaret McLean (Angus) of North Creek, twins, Gregory Leddick (Gloria) Missouri, Gretchen Millington of North Creek and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Sylvia’s request there will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted at a date and time to be announced at St. Joseph Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
The Rite of Committal will be at the convenience of the family.
