Obituary for Terry W. Borix

Terry W. Borix
Terry W. Borix, 68, of Robert Rogers Ave, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, August 6th, 2010, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born in Glens Falls on Oct. 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elaine (Prouty) Borix.

Terry was a graduate of Fort Edward High School. In 1964, he enlisted in the US Army and served as a drill instructor, honorably discharged in 1969.

He worked at Hercules/Ciba Geigy for over 25 years until they closed. He then went to work for Finch Pruyn from where he retired in 2006.

After his retirement, because he could not sit still, he continued to work on a part-time basis at Hannaford in South Glens Falls in the produce department and at Roof-Tek (CFS Coating & Foam Solutions).

On Aug. 26, 2000, he was happily joined in marriage with Maria Plummer.

Terry took every opportunity to put others before himself. He was very devoted to his family and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed giving rides to them on his tractor. He loved working on his lawn, in his garden, and his favorite pastimes were going fishing with his buddy Jerry and sharing laughs with his friend Bruce.

In addition to his loving wife of 9 years, Maria Borix of Fort Edward, he is survived by: his daughter, Sharon Carpenter and her husband Loren of Hartford; two children he raised as his own, Nicole Hill and her companion Nathan Krusko of Glens Falls, and Adam Hill and his wife Liz of Wilton; his 4 stepchildren, Kim Krug and her husband Mark of Glens Falls; Christine St. John of Fort Edward; Nathan St. John and his wife Keelye of Queensbury; Jodi Salisbury and her husband Kent of Albany; 11 grandchildren, Jacob, Christian and Morgan Carpenter, Angelina Hill, Christie and Deanna Krug, Anthony and Brianna Bradley, Justin, Aidan, and Matty Salisbury; and a sister Dawn Matthews and her husband Tom of Florida, several nieces and nephews, and his extended family the Fishes.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828. To send online condolences, please visit www.kilmerfuneralhome.com.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Dominic Sunukjian, pastor of Trinity Worship Christian Fellowship in Albany, officiating.

The Right of Committal will follow at Pine View Cemetery in Quaker Road in Queensbury.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Prospect Child and Family Center, 133 Aviation Rd, Queensbury, NY 12804 or a charity of one’s choice.
